Farm Animal Days and Pullen Park

Fun afternoon outing with Ruby and Simon. We stopped at the annual Farm Animal Days at the NC State farms near our house. The kids loved checking out the animals and tractors. The free NC State ice cream was pretty great too. After our farm visit we headed to Pullen Park to ride the train and we stopped at the WRAL Azalea Gardens to see if the azaleas were in bloom. I'm so grateful for the time I get with these kids. It's not always easy or pleasant, but I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Durham Day

I made a deal with Simon that I would take him to the Museum of Life and Science if he would let me make a quick stop at Duke Gardens (again). I love stopping by throughout spring to see all the blooms change. He was hard to keep track of as usual and was thrilled when we finally left and headed to his favorite place. He loves all the fun exhibits at the Museum of Life and Science and it's the perfect place for a boy full of energy. It was pretty warm that day so the mist exhibit was a welcome stop. (Ruby was there too but somehow didn't end up in any pictures. She's always such a content baby to just hang out in the stroller.)

NC Museum fo Art Park

They've been expanding the Art Park at the NCMA and have added some new sculptures. I took Ruby and Simon to check out the new sculpture by Jaime Hayon, SCULPT. C, which is a fun pig that you can climb in and slide down! Yay for interactive art!

March happenings.

Sunday morning fun in the play room, a dusting of snow in late March, fun with Ruby at the piano during church, celebrating Pi Day (Amelia made a t-shirt for extra credit in math and I made a sky-high chocolate mousse pie), a visit to the Museum of Natural Sciences with Simon and Ruby, and a treasure hunt for the kids on St. Patrick's Day.
