At the very first peep out of Elsa in the morning, Amelia is the first one in her room, climbing into her crib to get her pacifier and talk to her. When Elsa is in her bouncy chair, Amelia makes sure that she has a blanket tucked around her. She loves to give Elsa a bath and works diligently to get her all wet and clean.
The other day when Amelia was helping Elsa in the bath, Elsa could not stop looking up at her big sister with lots of smiles and admiration. Elsa is finally starting to smile at Amelia instead of just giving her that "deer in headlights" look that she used to give when Amelia came near.
There is something special about big sisters. I didn't notice too much between Madi and Emilie. But with Tim it has been amazing. Em has been a little mommy and it is adorable. Madi tries also but is more rough and often Tim will run from her to Em. I love that look of adoration and wonder from the younger sibling.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like Amelia is an outstanding big sister! It will be so much fun to watch that develop!
Let's not forget the exhausting business of being a little sister. Especially if you are the little-ist sister. Learning how to do everything twice as fast, constantly be on guard for gullibility pranks (I'll trade you a 2 dimes for just 1 quarter), defend against the forces of bossiness.
ReplyDeleteOf course, the perks can be quite good. Getting your own car when you're the only one left at home, enjoying the double-income wealth of parents who no longer have to spend all their time chasing children, and having basically no rules because your parents are tired from said time spent chasing children.
That's too funny. I hope Ethan will want to "help". I don't know if the same goes for big and little brothers. He may just try to wrestle him all the time...and will end up squashing him. :)
