D.C. trip: Infinity Mirrors

Ben had to do some work up in the D.C. area during spring break so we all tagged along for a quick trip. I was lucky enough to get tickets again for the Infinity Mirrors exhibit at the Hirshhorn. Ben was able to take Amelia and Elsa while I hung out with the younger kids. I was so glad they got to experience this fabulous exhibit. Lines were less crazy for them which was nice and they loved it. Ben especially enjoyed the ease of being at a museum with just the girls and then easily hopping in a taxi afterward and heading to dinner with them. We left for D.C. first thing in the morning but encountered the usual traffic on 95 and lots of traffic getting into the city so they barely made it for their 2:15 time slot.

I loved seeing the photos that Amelia took with my old phone. She wasn't overly concerned with the perfect selfie like everyone else. She just liked interesting shots. (She actually saw her favorite teacher at school at the exhibit!) Here are just a few of the MANY photos she took:

Strawberry Picking

The strawberry fields opened up right in time for spring break. Ben actually happened to be in town that week and working at home so I left a napping Ruby at home with him and took the other kids to the library and then Porter Farms for our first strawberry picking of the season. Nothing better than freshly picked, sun-ripened berries!

The Olsens in NC: the beach!

On Monday morning we headed toward Wilmington for a day at the beach. We ended up at Kure Beach and had a perfect beach day (minus Isla's jellyfish encounter). The weather was great and the water was chilly but not cold enough to keep everyone out of it. We played for hours before stopping at Cookout for shakes on the way home.
