back to the azalea garden

We returned to the azalea garden after school one day so Oliver and the girls could join us. It was past peak but still lots of blooms to see. Amelia was grumpy because it was a little chilly (like 65 degrees) but the other kids had fun running around.

The WRAL Azalea Gardens are one of my favorite hidden spots in Raleigh. Simon and I wandered around there one morning when the azaleas were at their peak and it was beautiful. I followed Simon around while he chased bees and attempted to do somersaults in the path.

The news helicopter landed on the roof and then took off again while we were there. Simon loved watching it. 

 This mile-high wisteria we spotted on the way home was so pretty.

I found this great little azalea garden in Raleigh. We were a little late for the peak bloom of the azaleas but there were still a lot in full bloom and it was a gorgeous little spot. The boys and I had a picnic lunch there and then wandered around the paths. We had the place to ourselves. Oliver and Simon had fun hiding in the azaleas and making me chase them.
