North Carolina State Fair

We had fun checking out the North Carolina State Fair. We tried all kinds of fried foods and let the kids go on a few rides (of course they were ridiculously overpriced). The equestrian center was offering free five-minute horse riding lessons and this was definitely a highlight for the kids. They loved it.

Amelia really wanted a giant turkey leg. She was quite pleased with her selection.

We tried the deep fried Reese's peanut butter cup which was actually really good. We had to try the famous Twinx. A Twinkie stuffed with a Twix, wrapped in bacon, dipped in cake batter and then deep fried. It wasn't as good as the peanut butter cup.
