Oregon Day 8: waffles and waterfalls

We had an extra day to spend in Portland before our early morning flight the following day. We started with the most amazing waffles from the Waffle Window. Everyone was in love with the waffles and the delicious toppings.

We drove outside of town to the Columbia River Gorge to hike around and check out a few waterfalls. We saw Multnomah Falls and Wahkeena Falls and both were spectacular. I regret not bringing my real camera on the hike.

And finally, we ended our trip with  some doughnuts from the famed Voodoo Doughnut in Portland. Yum.

Oregon Day 7

We left the beach house Saturday morning. Those of us who were flying home made our way back up to Portland. We took a scenic route along the coast and stopped at Lighthouse Doughnuts for the most delicious bear claw. We met up with my parents and Steph at the Tillamook Cheese Factory where my dad gave us the inside scoop on cheese production.

We headed into downtown Portland that evening. We had just enough time to browse at Powell's Books (huge and amazing bookstore) and grab a late dinner at Little Big Burger.

Oregon Day 6

The weather was perfect for our last full day at the beach house. We explored a different area of the beach just down the road. Oliver loved having rocks to climb on and calm waters to play in. We spent most of the day at the beach and returned in the evening for a final sunset stroll.
