Road Trip: Maine (York's Wild Kingdom)

It was so fun to surprise the kids with a stop at York's Wild Kingdom, a little amusement park in York, Maine. (Thanks for the awesome recommendation Dan and Rachel!) Our timing was perfect. We arrived in the evening, after the zoo portion had already closed and many people were leaving. We got a parking spot right next to the entrance and had no crowds or lines to deal with. The kids started screaming with joy when we pulled in and they spotted some rides, clearly ready for a break from the car. Their excitement could not be contained. Amelia was squealing, Elsa couldn't stop talking (which is what she does when she's excited) and Oliver kept jumping up and down.

The amusement park had some pretty hilarious old school rides and fun houses and kind of looked like a traveling carnival that just stayed put years ago. Oliver and Simon were FREE and everyone else got an unlimited ride pass for only $11. We had such a fun night enjoying happy kids and lovely Maine weather.

This ride made me laugh. The worker just had to stand in freezing cold water and push the boats around.

The amusement park is famous for their giant fried dough. Definitely giant. And delicious.
