Road trip!!

We decided to drive to Wisconsin to save money on buying 6 plane tickets and renting a car (and also save ourselves the huge stress that comes with flying). Plus a road trip is always fun and would give us flexibility with our departure dates and times. We broke the drive up quite a bit so it wasn't too bad at all. We left on a Wednesday evening and drove about 5 hours to Charleston, West Virginia. The kids always love staying in a hotel and getting continental breakfast. Thursday we drove from Charleston to Chicago which was 7 or 8 hours. (We stopped in Dayton, Ohio to have lunch and donuts at Tim Hortons. We always get nostalgic when we find a Tim Hortons because we first discovered it on our honeymoon in Nova Scotia. We also spent the evening wandering around Chicago.) Then Friday we drove from Chicago to the reunion location in northwest Wisconsin, about 5 hours. That day felt the longest because everyone was anxious to finally get there and nobody was able to coordinate bathroom stops so it felt like we were stopping every hour for something. But we made it! My whole family gets together at a different location every two years. We've had some pretty amazing reunions from coast to coast (Mexico, the Outer Banks, the Oregon coast, and now beautiful Wisconsin). My parents won't be living in Wisconsin too much longer so it was fun to all meet up there one last time.

Had to have his Georgie and his bear and his blankies. And his "ipad."

Big rain storm and lots of traffic for a few hours before arriving in Chicago.

 Fried cheese curds!!

Huge cheese section at the grocery store with loads of cheese curds. Must be Wisconsin.
