The Fairies of Ann Arbor.

The afternoon we spent at the Arboretum was a dream come true for Amelia. We had not been walking long when Amelia announced that she was going to start collecting things to build a fairy house. Less than a minute later, we were in shock when we came upon this:

An entire area designed for building fairy houses, complete with buckets full of twigs, pine cones, and other building materials. There were several houses that had already been built and were still standing.


This was Amelia's face when she discovered the fairy woods. She said "I can't believe this is all for me!"


She could have built fairy houses for hours. We finally convinced her to continue on the walk with us and when we stopped by on the way back, she was shocked that all the houses were still there.

After building houses for the Woodland variety of fairy, we were off to find the famed Urban Fairy doors of Ann Arbor. Several years ago, these fairy doors began popping up all around Ann Arbor. We found a map online for a few of them and went on a search. It was rather exciting when we would find one. Everyone leaves little "gifts" at the doors so Amelia had fun adding to the piles.













Next time you come to our house, you just may find a fairy door...
