Fourth of July, D.C. style!

We had fun experiencing the D.C. fireworks up close this year. We headed downtown mid-afternoon and parked at Ben's office. The whole experience was much easier than we had anticipated. We found a great spot to sit, right under the Washington Monument looking towards the Lincoln Memorial. It was so fun to be so close to the fireworks. When we left, it took us less than 5 minutes to drive out of the city and a total of 30 minutes to get home. Nothing beats the 4th of July in D.C.




Every square inch of this grass was covered with people by the time the fireworks started. There was even a small Japanese family of 5 that squeezed into the one foot of space between our blanket and the people in front of us.



We had several hours to hang out and enjoy the atmosphere. We kept busy with the following activities...
