NC Zoo

We've been having the most mild weather this winter. On one warm day in January, I decided on a whim to take Simon and Ruby to the zoo after dropping the others off at school. The zoo was nearly empty that day and we had every exhibit to ourselves. It was amazing. We saw lots of animal action. The polar bear was especially fun to watch. He had a giant plastic pickle that he was playing with in the water. I loved being outside, enjoying the weather and getting some exercise. The zoo is HUGE and requires a lot of walking. But it's worth the 1 1/2 hour drive to get there. We made it home just as Amelia was getting off the bus.
