the weekend.

The girls have started taking gymnastics on Saturday mornings. We tackled an extra long list of chores on the last Saturday in January. And of course everything was messy again by Sunday. The kids' elementary school had rented out the roller rink Saturday night so we all went. The older kids loved roller skating. Simon was mostly interested in the arcade. Later that night we had Amelia babysit while Ben and I went out to a movie (finally saw La La Land). After they got the boys to bed, Amelia and Elsa stayed up late to make the boys a pirate ship since they were talking about pirates at bedtime. They had it waiting for them as a surprise in the morning. It was really sweet. The boys fought over it so they worked on making a bigger ship Sunday afternoon. They also made good use of the art room (i.e. made a big mess) and started making Valentines.
