NC Zoo

A fun visit to the zoo. Getting caught in a few torrential downpours made it even more exciting (and also drove away the crowds).

Visit from the Littles!

We loved having Kirsten and her kids visit for a few days this past summer. The kids have endless fun together and seem to be kindred spirits in the way they play. They spent a lot of time outside making potions and "dinner" and playing house. They also spent lots of time in the art room and we tried to cool off with the bike wash and water balloons. We went to Oak View Farm one morning. Ben stayed home one night with all TEN kids while Kirsten and I made the journey to Chef and the Farmer. It was tomato season and we had the most delicious meal, ordering as many things as possible. Ruby was a little celebrity with all the kids and loved getting so much attention from her admirers. (I loved all the extra helping hands too.)

Visit from the Davis family!

We loved having Jessica and her kids come visit for a few days. It was HOT that week and we tortured the kids with a visit to the NC Botanical Garden in Chapel Hill but we made up for it with a fun visit to Jordan Lake the next day. The kids loved playing together, creating art together, and staying up late talking and being silly.
