performances, hot dogs, and the capitol

My parents arrived the Sunday night before Christmas. It was past bedtime but there was no way the girls were falling asleep until Grandma and Grandpa were here. They went with me to the airport and it was so fun to see them run down the sidewalk as soon as they saw Grandma and Grandpa coming and greet them with big hugs.

The next day was rainy so we spent the morning relaxing and being entertained by various performances from the kids. Grandma and Grandpa performed a song for us too. We eventually headed downtown and had lunch at Tasty 8's. I tried the falafel dog this time and it was delicious. After stuffing ourselves with gourmet hot dogs and fries, we took my parents to the Capitol to see the Christmas decorations. The kids like to pretend they're shooting each other out of the cannon on the front lawn.

Amelia's school had some of the kids' art work on display at a local credit union. We stopped by to find Amelia's art. She had no idea what was chosen to be on display so it was a fun surprise for her.
