Valentine Cupcake Pops

Okay. This will be the last Valentine-related post. Due to our snow week, Valentine's Day festivities have really been extended. School parties aren't even being held until this week. So we spent the end of our snow week making Valentines for Amelia's teachers.

We already had supplies laying around that were left over from our Christmas cake pops, and luckily Valentine's Day uses red and white too. We added a little pink and some heart sprinkles. We looked around the house for something to put them in and found these flower pots, which inspired our flower card and message.

'Tis the Season...for baking!

A baking frenzy started at our house during the snowy weekend and has continued all week long.

Sugar cookies:

Candy orange slice cookies, chocolate peppermint bark cookies, and peanut butter cookies (made with Hershey's Bliss instead of Kisses...learned that trick at a cookie exchange party last week)

This wasn't baking, but cutting out these magnetic nativity figures for the kids also kept me busy during the snow storm.

First attempt at Cupcake Pops!

I have wanted to attempt these cupcake pops since I saw them here about a year ago. I needed to bring a treat to Amelia's last day of school since they were celebrating summer birthdays and I decided it was time to try these little cuties.

They turned out better than I expected for a first try and were so delicious. I just assumed it was all about the cuteness factor and not so much the taste. But these things are scrumptious. Amelia had fun dipping them in the chocolate coating and then putting the sprinkles on. It was a LONG process, but I'm excited to try them again.

Mmmmm.
