sunday evening stroll: huntley meadows

We went for a walk at Huntley Meadows with our friends the Littles. The kids had fun running, playing, imagining, and looking for animals. The sunset was beautiful and the evening light left a beautiful orange glow in the woods. We will most definitely miss Huntley Meadows.

Sunset at Huntley Meadows

Another beautiful Sunday evening stroll at Huntley Meadows. Fall colors were starting to show and the sky was stunning.

Huntley Meadows

We spent a beautiful summer evening at Huntley Meadows with Jessica and her family. The kids loved exploring together and searching for animals. It was a lucky day for animal spotting and we saw just about everything. Turtles, frogs, geese, herons, egrets, deer, a snake, and even one of the elusive beavers.

huntley meadows + a field day

We had gorgeous weather a few weeks ago, cool and humid-free (unlike the hot and steamy mess we're in this week). Elsa, Oliver, Simon, and I headed to Huntley Meadows for a walk. We spotted lots of frogs and turtles and even a deer out in the wetlands. The forest seemed particularly green and lush that day.

Elsa took some photos while running with my phone.

While we were enjoying Huntley Meadows, Ben was volunteering at Amelia's school for their field day. Amelia had a great time and loved having Ben there. She was also excited she didn't have to wear her uniform that day.

And apparently she knows how to hula hoop.

sunday evening stroll: huntley meadows

After our little family birthday celebration of cake and presents, Elsa wanted to go on a walk at Huntley Meadows. It was a beautiful evening, but also the first mosquito sightings of the season. Ugh.

Ben attempted to grab a frog and ended up with a handful of mud.

huntley meadows

We needed a second adventure to continue enjoying the beautiful weather so we met up with Jessica and her kids in the evening for a stroll through Huntley Meadows. The kids loved looking for animals and pretended to be scientists.

At some point during the day, Ben passed by an Office Depot that was relocating and everything in the store was for sale. So he bought the check out counter. And somehow fit it in the back of his car. No exciting makeovers in store...Ben put it in the shed to use as a work bench. Not a bad find for $20.
