Lake House Day 9

Since I had been sick in bed since about 4:00 the previous evening, I was ready to get up and out of bed before sunrise on our last morning. I enjoyed watching the sunrise and went out on a solo kayak ride. The water was so still and there was a cool layer of mist on the water. It was so peaceful out. I was glad I was feeling better and could enjoy one last view of the lake. I'm also convinced we need to get kayaks now. So fun. Everyone packed up and headed home that morning. It was sad to say goodbye to everyone but I'm so glad we have this week of fun memories together. We made our way to Green Bay to spend another week at my parent's house so the fun didn't end yet. Dan and Rachel and their kids were staying there too which was extra fun.

Lake House Day 8

On our last full day at the lake house, we spent a lot of time at the lake. Ben and I got to take the kayaks out together, without kids on our lap, which was fun. The reflections on the water were so beautiful. I had a nature scavenger hunt for the kids to do in the morning. Ben and Dan took several of the kids into town to see a movie in the afternoon (Inside Out). Unfortunately, I got really sick that evening. Not sure what it was, maybe something I ate, but I was stuck in bed throwing up. Luckily I felt better in the morning and nobody else got sick. I missed out on some boat swimming and more s'mores and hanging out which was a bummer.

Lake House Day 7

More lake time, including another gorgeous sunrise, and lots of hanging out. Dan and I went to the nearest town, Spooner, in the morning for a grocery run. We found this great bakery in town and everything was so cheap we got just about one of everything. Erin had taken a video of the kids' play the previous night and turned it into a fun old-timey silent movie. We had a viewing of the movie and the kids loved watching themselves perform.
