donuts + duke

I headed to Durham with the boys one day to check out the fall colors at Duke Gardens. We made a stop downtown for donuts at Monuts Donuts. So good. Duke Gardens was beautiful as always. It's been fun to see it in every season. We walked through campus a bit and got a closer look at the Duke Chapel. Such a beautiful campus. It's fun to see Oliver and Simon starting to play together more. They love to chase each other around and fall down and laugh.

Art Week: messes + the scrap exchange

We did a few art projects for art week but I didn't document them. I had several ideas for outings but it ended up being a crazy week and sometimes it's hard to find something that will work for all four kids. Luckily, Ben was able to keep Oliver and Simon home one afternoon so I could take the girls to The Scrap Exchange in Durham. They have a fantastic "make 'n take" room where you can make anything you want using all of the random objects they have in the room. It was so fun to watch the girls be creative (without having to deal with the boys and their crazy antics).

And of course we had to check out a nearby donut place, Monuts Donuts. Because baking is an art form, right? The donuts were delicious and I'm excited to go back and try other flavors.
