I was doing some online research to find gardens in the area and came across the Raleigh Rose Garden which is behind the Raleigh Little Theatre. I took the boys there one day and it was the perfect little spot for a picnic. It smelled wonderful and there were so many varieties and colors of roses in full bloom. Ben and I returned a few days later for a date night picnic in the garden.

Duke Gardens with the boys.
Another trip to Duke Gardens. This time with just the boys. They loved wandering and exploring and trying to get into the fountains. It's so fun to see how the gardens change throughout the year. I love to see what color combinations they create. The central gardens had been filled with tulips just a few weeks before. This time there was foxglove everywhere. We just missed the peak of the giant purple Dr. Seuss-like allium but they still looked pretty grouped with all the foxglove. The roses were also in full bloom.

Duke Gardens
My parents joined the party during the week and were able to make their visit overlap with the Vermont crew for a day. We explored Duke Gardens in the morning. The flowering dogwoods, azaleas, and tulips were in full bloom and gorgeous.
