Road Trip: The end!

Two weeks, 2,700 miles, 14 states and dozens of donuts later, we made it home! I loved this road trip and would do it again in a heartbeat, although it was nice to be home again and sleep in our own beds. We didn't quite complete the license plate game, but we did manage to get both Hawaii and Alaska. The 14 states we drove through: North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, D.C., Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont!

Poor Simon was such a trooper on our trip. He finally just resigned himself to life in a car. He also figured out how to shimmy out of his buckles.

Road Trip: Virginia (spray park + Jones Point)

We checked out the new playground at Lee District and then played at the spray park. The kids had a blast. We picked up dinner at BGR and then met more friends at Jones Point. It was great to catch up with friends and watch the kids play until the sun went down.

Road Trip: Virginia (River Farm)

Ben had some work to do in Alexandria at the end of our trip. While he was working, the kids and I met some friends at River Farm. It was so fun to return to one of our favorite spots and spend time with great friends. It was also a gorgeous day and so many beautiful things were in bloom.

I met my friend Jessica for the first time at River Farm and this time we got to meet her new baby Sloane for the first time! The kids loved holding her.

Road Trip: Philadelphia

 We stopped in Philadelphia for dinner. We tried Sonny's for cheesesteaks and they were delicious. I love the architecture in Philadelphia and wish we could have spent more time there.

Road Trip: Vermont (tubing + backyard shenanigans)

The weather just refused to warm up but it didn't stop us from going tubing one day. Our little tubing spot was so scenic and also perfect for the kids to easily get in, ride, and run back and do it again. The kids didn't seem to mind the chilly water and the dads were kind enough to jump in and save any stranded tubes.

Performing. As usual, tickets were issued and the show didn't appear to have an ending.
