To celebrate the first day of summer vacation we decided to check out
Potomac Overlook Park in Arlington. I always love driving down the beautiful George Washington Parkway. I realized we were approaching
Theodore Roosevelt Island so I made a last minute decision to stop there and walk around. I'm so glad I did. We hadn't been in a few years and neither of the girls remembered it. The weather was perfect that day and we were the only people at the monument. It seemed a little creepy to be in the woods alone with the giant statue of Teddy. But the kids loved running around and exploring.
Tiny Oliver.
We eventually made it to Potomac Overlook Park. Probably not worth the drive as a destination on its own, but it was the perfect adventure paired with Roosevelt Island. The kids had fun at the playground and they loved looking at the animals (dead and alive) in the nature center.
