utah: bear lake

Technically this was Idaho, not Utah.

We joined nearly everyone in my family for a fun day at Bear Lake. (My parents and most of my siblings were in town for a family reunion that weekend.) We found a great stretch of the beach that wasn't crowded and had lots of shade. After hours of swimming and relaxing we made our traditional stop at La Beau's for dinner and their famous raspberry shakes.

We stopped at an overlook on our way out and the views were beautiful.

utah: red butte garden + bees

We had such a great time exploring Red Butte Garden with lots of Ben's family one day. There were so many beautiful flowers in bloom and the location with a view of the valley was spectacular. The kids especially loved the children's garden which had a lot of fun nooks and crannies, and water features.

 We ended up at the amphitheater stage where the kids had fun tumbling and playing in the shade.

 

That night we had fun going to a Salt Lake Bees game with some friends. Their three kids are similar in age to ours so all the kids enjoyed playing in the grass together and riding the little train.

utah: up the canyon

We returned home last week from a trip to Utah to visit family and friends. We had a great time. As usual, we didn't have enough time to see everyone and do everything, but we packed in as much as we could.

On the first day we arrived, we spent a fun evening in Millcreek Canyon enjoying s'mores and good company. It was so nice to enjoy the cool mountain air in the evening.

Amelia choreographed a dance with the other girls.

 

The next night we had a big backyard bbq with lots of Ben's family. Amelia was especially excited that her cousin Anna was in town from Wichita.
