Wisconsin: Fourth of July

We hit Bay Beach for the second time. We arrived right when it opened and were able to do several rides with no lines. We didn't get to ride the train on our first visit so we did that. After a few hours at Bay Beach, we headed across the street to the Wildlife Sanctuary. Then we had a big cookout back at my parent's house and relaxed a bit. We decided against taking all the kids downtown for fireworks and instead just headed to Bayshore Park in the evening for a walk and to let the kids play on the playgound. We walked down to the shore at sunset and the views were beautiful. We found out it was actually a great spot to watch fireworks from another city. So we stuck around and the kids loved sitting on the roof of the car to watch. It was some of the easiest fireworks viewing we've ever done. No crowds and no traffic. We set off our own little fireworks back at my parent's house.

Oliver did NOT want to be a part of any fireworks. He is super scared of loud noises. But my dad's headphones seemed to do the trick. He hid down in the basement when we did the fireworks at the house.

Wisconsin: beach + caves

We hit the beach this day and nearly had it to ourselves. I don't think the temperature made it past 75 that day and it felt even colder by the water. Plus, Lake Michigan is FREEZING. The kids still had fun in the water and didn't seem to care. I wore a sweater over my swimsuit the whole time. We had lunch at a park and then stopped at some fun caves on the way home.
