Nature Week: bird feeders + fairy houses
We made pine cone bird feeders one day. Which the squirrels thoroughly enjoyed over the next few days. We also made a fairy house in the backyard. Someone got stung by something and everyone was under attack by mosquitoes. We had our fill of nature.
Simon made his way into the rain-filled pool, fully clothed of course.
And a video chat with Ben who was out of town for work that week.
Nature Week: Raulston Arboretum
A trip to the arboretum seemed perfect for nature week. To make things more interesting, I had the girls bring their sketch books and draw their favorite flowers and plants. They were really into it and had fun finding their favorites. It made us take our time examining all the varieties of plants which was nice.

Nature Week: Prairie Ridge Ecostation
I found the perfect place to take the kids for nature week. The Prairie Ridge Ecostation, which is part of the NC Museum of Natural Sciences, has a super fun "nature play space." The kids had so much fun creating an imaginary world. I'm always in awe of their imaginations. As an added bonus, we had the place to ourselves. Everyone left muddy and happy.
