magnolias at the arboretum

Another beautiful spring walk around the Raulston Arboretum. This time the magnolias were in full bloom and lots of daffodils and red buds were blooming. Amelia had stayed home from school because she had a headache (although I think she just wanted to get another day of spring break and I don't blame her) but Elsa was happy to go to school because she had a class picnic that day.

We found this poor injured bird.

richmond: zoo

We had such a fun visit to the Richmond Zoo. We've been here a few other times and the kids always love it. It's a smaller zoo so it's not as exhausting to get through but they still have a lot of animals and you can get much closer to them. Plus, you can feed the giraffes which is always a highlight. The weather was perfect this day and we practically had the whole zoo to ourselves.

Notice Simon sneaking under the rope in the background.

richmond: children's museum

While Ben was working, I took the kids to the children's museum in Richmond. They had so much fun and loved every exhibit. I finally dragged them out of the museum a few hours later and we picked up donuts from Sugar Shack and then picked up Ben from the hospital where he was working and headed to the zoo.

I think he liked it better when he had the microphone.
