NC State Fair

Ben and I got a babysitter for the boys on a weekday afternoon and had a fun date at the NC State Fair. It was nice to wander around at our own pace and not listen to kids begging to go on rides. We checked out several exhibits. It's always fun to see the giant pumpkins and weird-shaped produce. And of course we tried some crazy foods.

These jalapeno pimento cheese hush puppies were super good.

Deep fried bananas foster.

"Fry Me Over the Moon." A moon pie, pb cup, hostess cupcake and oreo all fried up inside this donut-like shell and covered with a cream cheese glaze. It was crazy. But kind of delicious. At least for a few bites.
