Ecuador: Isla de la Plata

On our second morning in Ecuador, we were able to attend church and meet lots of people. Afterward, we headed to the bus station and made our way to the coastal town of Puerto Lopez. We got to ride around in the little motorcycle taxis which was fun. We stayed in a cute little hotel that felt like a little oasis. We walked along the beach and stopped at a restaurant for dinner.

We had a yummy breakfast the next morning before heading out for a boat tour to Isla de la Plata, often called the "mini Galapagos." It was a choppy boat ride and my mom got drenched at the back of the boat. We saw several whales which was amazing. On the island we hiked around and saw so many birds and interesting plants. It was mating season for the blue-footed boobies so we got to see their mating dance which was cool.
