a birthday celebration.

We don't get to celebrate birthdays with family members very often, but since Ben's parent's are living here for a short time we were able to celebrate his mom's birthday recently. We had a fun evening involving dinner, opening gifts, and cake. Unfortunately Amelia was sick and didn't get to fully enjoy the festivities. She perked up a bit after her medicine kicked in. And the poor thing is sick again. Oliver became sick the other night which manifested itself in my car while driving. Luckily his carseat took the brunt of it. (Well, maybe not luckily. Those things are a pain to clean.) Then Amelia became sick while riding in Ben's car. Unfortunately his car may never be (smell) the same again. Oliver seemed to recover quickly but poor Amelia was up most of the night, throwing up 8 or 9 times. You lose track at some point.

But that was a terrible digression for a birthday post. Back to the birthday fun! And cake!
