The day it didn't rain.

We were expecting rain this afternoon. Ben had the day off so we headed out on a family walk this morning to enjoy the day before the rain arrived. We ended up walking about 4 miles, part of which was through a lovely (and hilly) hidden forest path near our house. After lunch we dropped the girls off with a friend and I surprised Ben with an afternoon date touring a Frank Lloyd Wright house (more on that later) and enjoying some ice cream. We picked up the girls and then stopped to buy flowers for my rock garden planters and pick up food for grilling, all the while crossing our fingers that the rain would continue to stay away. Amelia helped me plant my flowers while Ben grilled up a delicious dinner. We enjoyed dinner on the patio and never did see a drop of rain. We were reminded of how clean the house can remain when we get to spend so much time outside.
