A few weekends ago we did our annual winter campout in the living room. Tinfoil dinners in the oven, a YouTube campfire, s'mores, flashlight dance party, a movie*, sleeping in the living room, and a pancake breakfast in the morning.
*We were looking for a family friendly movie that was streaming on Netflix. We settled on The Red Balloon, a delightful 35 minute (mostly silent) French film about a boy in Paris who befriends a red balloon. Pretty innocent, right? But the girls couldn't stop asking questions and were determined to find drama (bad guys) in the movie, even if it was a man just passing by on the street. The movie ended (spoiler alert) with the boy floating off happily with loads of balloons. And they were still concerned. "Where is he going? What if the balloons pop? Is he going to run into that?" It was kind of exhausting. I guess they didn't appreciate the artistic nature of the film.

We tried the Red Balloon at our house too. It didn't go over very well. Emma was completely bored and Ben and Paige were asking a question a minute. It WAS exhausting.
