Our final destination was beautiful Cunningham Falls State Park. The short 1/2 mile hike to the falls was perfect for the kids. The scenery was lush and green and shady. Perfect for a hot summer day. The falls looked refreshing but their beauty was a bit marred by loads of scantily clad teenagers on the rocks. Amelia and Elsa wanted to swim at the falls, but it didn't seem ideal for little ones. Instead, we made our way back and had a great time swimming in the lake. We eventually had to drag the kids away from the water to make our way home. The setting was so peaceful. Floating in a lake surrounded by forest just feels like the quintessential summer activity.
