D.C. trip: National Cathedral

After reuniting with Ben, we picked up pizza from 2 Amy's (so good) and had a pizza picnic at the National Cathedral. We had fun just enjoying the views and playing in the grass. We then drove through Georgetown (and more traffic) to return a light fixture that I had bought online from CB2 (to save on return shipping). Georgetown is a pain to drive through but it sure is beautiful. We had planned to visit the National Arboretum but by this point we were DONE with D.C. driving and traffic and decided to head out of town to beat the evening rush hour. Of course that didn't work and we got stuck in crazy traffic on 95 again. At least the traffic was a good excuse to take the back roads and stop at Sugar Shack in Stafford. We made one more pit stop at a park in Richmond to stretch our legs before heading the rest of the way home. Even though it was short, we had such a fun trip together. Many of our friends were out of town for spring break so it was a rare trip where we just hung out as a family. We saw lots of great things but the kids also got lots of outside play time which was perfect.
