green bay: arriving

We had such a great week at my parents' house in Green Bay, Wisconsin. My sister Erin drove over from Michigan with her two kids, my sister Stephanie flew out from Arizona, and Graysen and Naomi (my nephew and niece) flew out by themselves from Utah.

As usual, my parents spoiled us all week and took us on lots of fun outings. It's always a nice break for me because the kids get lots of attention from everyone else (Amelia especially loved hanging out with her cousin Naomi) and my parents are always quick to help out with the kids. (Like taking a fussy Oliver out of a restaurant so we could enjoy our meal or watching him so we could do non Oliver-friendly activities.) And of course the girls are always excited to see what new games Aunt Steph has on her iphone and ipad.

We had an early morning flight out of Dulles and had to leave our house at 3:30 a.m. The girls were so excited to be woken up and loved flying. The flight to Chicago was under 2 hours (and Oliver slept for most of it) and then it was a quick 35 minute flight to Green Bay.

We were the first ones to arrive and enjoyed a relaxing day (with a nap) and a beautiful walk at the Arboretum. Erin and her kids arrived later that night and we got to meet her new baby for the first time.

Grandpa plays ponies with the girls.

Oliver decided it would be a good idea to wake up at 5 every morning. Thankfully that trend has ended now that we're back home. I really hope he doesn't try that again on our next trip. It was exhausting.

  1. Oh, my serene little baby. We should contrast the last photo with the one of the girls holding Genghis while he was squirming and screaming. (I meant of when he was a baby, but that statement could be true today too)
