Monticello

Ben's parents came to visit last week and we had a really fun time. The girls really enjoyed getting to spend so much time with them. His parents spent a few days down in Virginia Beach by themselves and then we drove down last Thursday and met them in Charlottesville. After a nice dinner in the fun downtown area (eating outside...the weather was so nice), we spent the night in Charlottesville and then headed to Monticello in the morning. Monticello (Thomas Jefferson's home) was really beautiful with all the spring colors. The drive home through the country was also gorgeous.

Amelia and Elsa with Grandpa in the hotel.

Since I had already toured the house before and they're not a huge fan of children touring the house, I hung out with the girls while everyone else did the tour. We found this great children's area which the kids loved. Amelia got to create her own Monticello.

They have a new Visitor Center there with a fun Discovery room for kids.

  1. Is that raw meat Elsa is playing with?

Sounds like fun. Charlotsville is a great town. (I totally spelled that wrong...)
