wax museum, awards, and duke gardens

Elsa chose to be Helen Keller for the Third Grade Wax Museum which was held during the last week of school. It was fun to see all the kids dressed up and hear her presentation.

We also attended a sixth grade awards ceremony for Amelia. She received one of the character awards. She was also on the A honor roll through the whole year. She transitioned so well to middle school and took on a lot of new responsibilities like a champ.

Amelia left school with us after the ceremony ended (the ceremony was SO hard to enjoy with Simon and Ruby being loud and crazy...not many other middle school parents have small children so we were drawing a lot of attention with our chaos, even though we were trying to hide in the back). Amelia got to join me, Simon and Ruby for an afternoon walk around Duke Gardens. It was so nice to have her along to help keep track of Simon, who kept running off (or hiding under the giant magnolias), and to play with Ruby who just adores her big sister.
