We went to downtown Durham one night to see all the festive lights on the American Tobacco Campus. We had dinner at Only Burger. They have a fabulous private room with a tv which made for a pretty nice dining experience with all the kids. After dinner we walked around to see the lights and decorations. It was the coldest night of the year. Luckily they had some fires to keep us warm. The kids loved playing with the giant chess set and swinging on all the hammocks. Simon fell into one of the water features, of course. We checked out the tree made of bikes (bikes that would be donated to kids in need) and then walked over to the Triangle Christmas Tree Challenge. There were over 50 trees that had been decorated by different organizations. There are always some interesting tree displays. The kids thought the one with an angel mannequin visiting prisoners in jail was especially odd.
