Christmas Eve: Zoo

The kids were up early on Christmas Eve and so excited for the day. I caught them reading Christmas books together on the couch when I came down in the morning. We got a few things ready for dinner and did a bit of cleaning then we headed to the NC Zoo. The Christmas fairy made one final visit, leaving a tiny nativity scene at the door.

We stopped at Jimmy John's for a quick lunch before the zoo. We love our Christmas Eve visits to the zoo (a tradition that started with Ben's family). It's always pretty empty and the kids get out lots of their excited energy. We had great weather again this year. We were sad they removed the old photo booth and replaced it with a new one that adds an animal photo to the photo strip. But we still had fun trying to cram our whole family into the photo booth for our annual picture. It was pretty hilarious but somehow we managed to get everyone in the shots. Or at least some part of us.
